I am a founder member of the relatively new group, Derbyshire Artists Guild. We are a group of seven artists who regularly exhibit together either in galleries or in community spaces. We decided to form the group so that we could take professional art to places where everyone would feel comfortable to open the door and simply browse the artwork, have a cup of coffee and cake, and meet the artists. We feel it is important also to meet the wonderful collectors who buy our work, something that we can`t do in a gallery situation.
Our next exhibition is at Baslow Village Hall, near Chatsworth, Derbyshire, on 16th and 17th November, 2018. There will be originals, large and small, prints and greetings cards. Not to mention the delicious homemade cakes that are made by the artists themselves! It would be lovely to see some new friends there.
